Almeida Industries is a privately held AI research firm based in Windsor, Ontario. We design and build machine learning infrastructure from first principles — custom kernels, optimizers, training pipelines, and knowledge systems — developed entirely in-house.
Our work spans foundational research and applied deployment. We are not a consultancy, not a product company, and not a university lab. We own our stack, operate our own hardware, and answer to no external benchmark schedule.
Current focus areas include novel optimizer design, large-scale knowledge graph architecture, data engineering, and software performance research.
Every system we build is designed to be understood at every layer. We do not abstract away complexity to hit a deadline — we resolve it. This means slower initial progress and more durable long-term results.
Research and engineering are not separated here. The people writing training kernels are the same people thinking through the theoretical problems. There is no handoff between science and implementation.
We validate against real-world deployment constraints, not benchmark leaderboards. A system that performs well in our lab must perform well in an underfunded school on commodity hardware.
We do not take on contract work that would divert core research capacity. We do not publish results before they are ready. We do not compete for public benchmark rankings.
We do not use off-the-shelf training frameworks as a substitute for understanding the underlying mechanics. Our CUDA kernels, optimizers, and data pipelines are written and maintained by us.
We do not optimize for visibility. Work is disclosed when it is complete, protected where appropriate, and shared where it serves the mission.
